The
IICC Library is named after Sultan Qaboos Bin Said, Oman, It is
a special library and aims to function as a Referral Centre for
its members. Its mission is to facilitate its members’ access
to comprehensive, accurate and reliable information, expeditiously.
To accomplish its mission, the library is building up collection
of resources and developing relevant communication technology for
in house and on line information services. It has begun its function
with a moderate collection, mostly donated to it by the members,
it is hoped that the members shall continue to patronize it with
donation of books and other forms of information sources in the
thrust areas of the Centre. With the completion of the Center’s
new building the library has proper space to organize its services.
The thrust areas identified by the Centre include Islam and Islamic
studies; India, its history; civilization and culture; Indian Muslims;
their contributions to the history, culture and civilization of
the country; Muslims contribution to the world civilization in general
and in the field of science, philosophy, literature and art in its
various forms; comparative religion; Sufism and such other subjects
as fall within the scope of activities of the Centre.
