Smt. Indra Gandhi was a source of inspiration of the Members of
India Islamic Culture Centre who allotted two bungalows at No.87
& 88 lodhi Road and also gladly laid the foundation stone of
IICC on 24th August 1984. She was in fact impressed by the idea
to buildup such an institution which could promote understanding
among the people of different religion and help the promotion of
the cause of national integration.
Following
the spirit of Smt. Indra Gandhi Smt. Sonia Gandhi, president, Indian

twenty two years back at the time of Smt. Indra Gandhi, finally
takes shape. The architecture of the Centre, and the exquisite tile
work on the dome are a welcome addition to the diversity of styles
that is characteristic of the Lodhi Road Institutional Area.
Institutions are more than brick and mortar . They are the embodiment
of ideas and sentiments,of hopes and aspirations. Establishing them
is hard work and Iam aware of of the commitment and endeavour that
has gone into building the India Islamic Cultural Centre.”
it
is interesting to note that India Islamic Cultural Centre has become
