Inaugration of Coaching Centre
A question may arise in the mind of the people as to why IICC is embarking on Civil Services Coaching Programme & what is the justification for this venture. The answer lies in the pathetic conditions of Muslim community statistically proved and put on record by Justice Sachar Committee Report. Muslims are lacking behind in most of the fields. The worst is the representation of Muslims in the higher echelons of Administration particularly Bureaucracy, Police Administration, Judiciary, & Armed Forces. It is definitely a case of retrospection by all those who have the cause of Muslim minorities dear to their hearts.

The representation of Muslims in higher Civil Services over the years after independence has reduced to the lowest, compared with their population percentage of about 18%. The statistics reveal that it is hardly 2 to 3.5%. This causes a feeling of despair in our youths that they have no role to play in the development and governance of our country. It is in the interest of the government and the country that this aspect is given top weightage and attended to immediately to stop fast creeping dissatisfaction amongst the Muslims.

There are many NGOs who are making sincere efforts to prepare eligible youths for the higher Civil Services Exams who are the pillar of strength of the nation. India Islamic Cultural Centre (IICC) is taking some positive and immediate steps in this direction to correct this imbalance in case of Muslim Minority.

There is yet another factor which inspires IICC to revive the programme as the same programme was run from this very place in 1984 and continued until the dilapidated bungalows were demolished and the possession of land was handed over to IICC which has constructed this magnificent and imposing building from where Civil Services Coaching Programme will be conducted. A large number of IAS & IPS officers who stayed here to pursue their ambitions really feel proud and are emotionally attached with this place. Many of them have volunteered to contribute in what ever manner they could to help the Centre to revive and run this programme.

The IICC, therefore has decided to embark on this project which is also one of the aims & objectives of the Centre.

Latest Progress
The Centre has started a Civil Services Coaching Programme which will be imparting coaching for IAS, and other examinations conducted by UPSC. It will be an important service to our young men who are aspiring to join Civil services . The aim of this coaching programme is to provide all the facilities during the coaching period to the financially weak deserving candidates of minority community .

Hon’ble Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi’s The President of IICC dream came true on 27th May, 2007 when His Excellency Shri Tajendra Khanna Lt. Governor of NCT, Delhi inaugurated Civil Services Coaching Centre within the IICC campus.

Applications were invited through advertisement (free of cost). Total 60 candidates have been short listed out of 147 applicants.

Aptitude Test for 60 candidates will be held on 12th May, 2008 for selecting 10 candidates for coaching programme.

Rau’s IAS Study Circle one of the reputed institution for IAS coaching had been approached to provide coaching to the 10 selected candidates with hostel facilities throughout the coaching period (Approx. 9 months).

Hon’ble Mr. Sirajuddin Qureshi was kind enough to provide a huge amount of Rs.14 lacs approximately for this purpose.
